What does GovDeals sell?
Vehicles dominate by lot count. Police-fleet sedans, work trucks, tow trucks, school buses. IT assets (Cisco gear, Dell workstations, projectors) are the next-largest cluster. Heavy equipment (mowers, generators, snowplows) shows up regularly from public works. Condition is exactly what the agency is retiring: usually well-documented with photos and a maintenance log; sometimes blind 'as-is, where-is.'
Who buys from GovDeals?
Used-car dealers, fleet managers, IT-asset refurbishers, and small contractors are the largest buyer groups. A growing slice is reselling on Marketplace and Facebook to retail buyers who want a city-titled vehicle for under blue book.
What should you know before you bid or buy?
Every GovDeals lot is buyer-removal: you arrange your own shipping or pickup within the agency's removal window (usually 7-14 days post-auction). Out-of-state buyers should price freight before bidding. Agency staff don't help arrange transport. Some lots have fee-on-top regional taxes layered onto the bid.
