Liquidation sports gear, priced by the archive
Treadmills, bikes, weights and team-sports gear are a fixture of liquidation listings, and the niche splits in two: freight-heavy fitness machines on one side, light team gear on the other. This page prices the niche from BStalker’s own auction record: the median closing bid, the live supply, and the honest gaps, each figure with its denominator. These are our tracked numbers, not an industry estimate, and a closing bid is not a confirmed sale price.
01What a sports lot is
Sports and fitness gear reaches liquidation as customer returns, overstock and shelf pulls: the treadmill sent back after a month, the bike in a crushed box, the golf line a store reset out. On the B-Stock network, retailer storefronts auction sporting-goods return streams by the pallet and the truckload, and Liquidation.com lists sports and fitness lots from single cases to full loads. The fixed-price catalog sources carry fitness and team gear too, listed at a set price rather than auctioned. New-year fitness clear-outs feed a supply spike in the first quarter, when the returned resolution equipment meets the seasonal reset.
A listing titled “sports” can be a pallet of fitness machines or a case pack of team gear, and the two price completely differently per unit, so the two details that decide what a lot is really made of live on the listing, not in our aggregate: the manifest when the seller publishes one, and the per-unit price. A buyer after actual treadmills reads the manifest for the equipment mix and the condition lines, then checks the per-unit figure against what the pieces are worth to them. This page covers the niche across the nine marketplaces BStalker tracks; it is not every source of liquidation sports gear, and no feed is. Local auctions and direct liquidators move equipment that never touches a tracked marketplace.
02The numbers, from the archive
Of the auctions BStalker has tracked to close, sports lots close at a median of $125 across 1,779 priced closings, and 184 sports lots are live across the sources we track.
How we measureMedian = the middle value across priced closed auctions whose title matched the Sports category, the same match the live feed uses, published only past a minimum sample of priced closings. $/unit = the lot's total cost divided by the unit count the source publishes, where the source lists one. The category figures were computed on 2026-10-13 UTC and are kept current. A closing bid is the highest bid published before the gavel: a strong signal, not a confirmed sale price. Freight moves the number more than the bid does on heavy fitness lots; the measured record is what 23,105 real pallet freight quotes show.
03What the data cannot tell you
- Which half of the niche you are holding.Fitness machines and team gear price differently per unit, ship differently and carry different defect rates. The archive records the lot’s category and totals, not the mix, so two lots at the same per-unit cost can be very different buys. The manifest is where you read which half a lot is.
- Whether the machines work. A returned treadmill or exercise bike carries a defect rate a pallet of basketballs does not, and the archive records the condition grade the seller published, not an inspection. Untested returns price that uncertainty in, and the photos and manifest lines are where you gauge it.
- How much is up today. This niche’s live shelf is thinner than its archive is deep: the live count on this page is what is actually up across the tracked sources right now, and it sits far below the priced closings behind the median. The median describes the niche when lots appear; it does not promise one is up today.
- A confirmed sale price. A closing bid is where bidding stopped. A reserve can hold the lot back and a winner can fail to pay; neither shows in the record.
- Your freight. Fitness equipment is bulky and heavy: many lots are buyer-arranged LTL from a retailer warehouse, and your lane sets the price. The freight record we do hold is in what pallet shipping costs.
04How buying works
Every lot links out to the source marketplace, where you bid or buy signed in to your own account there. The number to plan around is not the bid; it is the landed cost: the current bid, plus the buyer’s premium (a percentage that varies by marketplace and sometimes by listing), plus freight. A reserve price can mean the leading bid still does not win.
The free pallet calculator does that arithmetic on your own numbers. Or hand your budget, freight and premium figures to the ChatGPT connector: it returns the bid ceiling your numbers support. Your arithmetic, not a recommendation.
