Clicking a lot takes you straight to the source platform’s listing page, where you inspect the manifest and bid yourself, signed in to your own account on that site; BStalker never takes bids or payments for lots, and never asks for a marketplace login or password. The footer of every alert has two controls: a link to edit or pause that specific saved search, and a link to your overall email preferences. Alerts only exist because you created the search. The pattern in all three: the search encodes the numbers you already decide with, your category, your per-unit ceiling, your reaction window, and the alert fires only when a live lot clears all of them at once. Narrow searches fire rarely and are worth reading every time; broad searches fire often and work more like a filtered feed delivered to your inbox. One practical note: fixed-price catalogs like 888 Lots and Via Trading don’t have closing times, so for those platforms the alert triggers when a new matching lot appears. Useful because buy-now lots can sell out at any moment.

Alerts send the first time the feed sees a lot that matches your saved search. The aim is that the email lands while the auction still has usable time on the clock, not after it closed. The feed is kept current around the clock.

Timing matters differently by platform. Auction marketplaces have scheduled closings, so the ending-within window does the work: set it to 24 hours and every alert is actionable by definition. Buy-now catalogs have no schedule at all, which cuts the other way, the lot can disappear whenever someone else checks out, so being emailed on appearance is the entire advantage over checking the site on your own rhythm.
