Liquidation apparel, priced by the archive
Clothing, shoes and accessories are a fixture of liquidation listings, usually in high piece counts at a low cost per piece. This page prices the niche from BStalker’s own auction record: the median closing bid, the live supply, and the brand cohorts, each with its denominator. These are our tracked numbers, not an industry estimate, and a closing bid is not a confirmed sale price.
01What an apparel lot is
Apparel reaches liquidation as customer returns, seasonal overstock and shelf pulls, usually by the case or the pallet with hundreds of pieces in a lot. BlueLots and Via Trading carry much of the apparel volume, department-store clothing returns show up across the B-Stock network storefronts, and Liquidation.com lists apparel lots from small boxes to truckloads. The fixed-price catalog sources carry apparel too, listed at a set price rather than auctioned.
A thousand-piece lot titled “mixed apparel” lives or dies by its manifest: the size run, the brand mix and the season decide how much of it moves, and the title tells you none of that. When the seller publishes one, the ChatGPT connector’s summarize_manifest tool aggregates the full manifest into unit and retail totals plus brand, category and condition mixes, so “what is actually in this pallet” is a question you can ask directly. This page covers the niche across the nine marketplaces BStalker tracks; it is not every source of liquidation apparel, and no feed is. Local auctions and direct liquidators move apparel that never touches a tracked marketplace.
02The numbers, from the archive
Of the auctions BStalker has tracked to close, apparel lots close at a median of $650 across 12,433 priced closings, and 9,850 apparel lots are live across the sources we track.
How we measureMedian = the middle value across priced closed auctions whose title matched the Apparel category, the same match the live feed uses, published only past a minimum sample of priced closings. $/unit = the lot's total cost divided by the unit count the source publishes, where the source lists one. Brand cohorts are the same medians computed over each brand’s archived closings between the dates on its row. The category figures were computed on 2026-10-13 UTC and are kept current. A closing bid is the highest bid published before the gavel: a strong signal, not a confirmed sale price.
03What the data cannot tell you
- The size run inside the manifest. The archive records the lot’s totals, not its size distribution: a lot heavy on uncommon sizes sells differently from one heavy on the middle of the curve, and only the manifest lines show which one you are looking at.
- A confirmed sale price. A closing bid is where bidding stopped. A reserve can hold the lot back and a winner can fail to pay; neither shows in the record.
- Your freight. Some listings carry a quoted shipping figure; many apparel lots are buyer-arranged freight from a retailer warehouse, and your lane sets the price. The freight record we do hold is in what pallet shipping costs.
04How buying works
Every lot links out to the source marketplace, where you bid or buy signed in to your own account there. The number to plan around is not the bid; it is the landed cost: the current bid, plus the buyer’s premium (a percentage that varies by marketplace and sometimes by listing), plus freight. A reserve price can mean the leading bid still does not win.
The free pallet calculator does that arithmetic on your own numbers. Or hand your budget, freight and premium figures to the ChatGPT connector: it returns the bid ceiling your numbers support. Your arithmetic, not a recommendation.
